Julie Johns LPC, CAADCLicensed Professional Counselor| Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug CounselorWhether you're navigating addiction or stuck in an unhealthy relationship, you don't have to face it all on your own. If you are dealing with a narcissistic or abusive partner and feel stuck in an endless cycle of emotional or physical abuse, there is help available to you. I'm experienced in helping to empower people so they can make healthy choices in their lives. Maybe you are dealing with the quiet ache of depression, anxiety, grief or past trauma —your story matters and you don't have to carry it alone. With over 20 years of experience walking alongside individuals through some of life’s most difficult terrain, I’ve learned that healing begins not with judgment, but with safety, compassion, and being truly heard. My approach blends evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)—which offers practical tools for change—with a deeply person-centered philosophy. That means your voice, your goals, and your lived experience are not just respected—they’re central to everything we do.
Helping adults and teens address trauma, shame, stigma, and systemic barriers is something I am passionate about. Learning to bounce back from life challenges and cope in healthy ways are skills that can be learned when given the right support. I know the strength it takes to reach out—and the transformation that’s possible when you do. My journey into this field began with a deep curiosity about human resilience. Decades later, I’m still inspired every day by the courage of my clients—their ability to heal, grow, and reclaim their lives. That passion continues to fuel my work, and it’s the reason I’m here: to walk beside you, with empathy and expertise, every step of the way. If you are ready to embark on your journey toward change, I am here for you.
Julie offers in-person sessions at our Flint Township office and also offers remote therapy.

Michelle Gonzalez LMFTLicensed Marriage and Family TherapistHi, I'm Michelle! My approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and rooted in authenticity. I believe healing starts when you feel truly seen. We can explore what’s weighing you down and build tools to help you move forward—whether that means setting boundaries, shifting your mindset, or simply learning to sit with what’s hard. I integrate CBT, mindfulness, and empowerment tools. Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you—it’s about empowering you. No pressure. Just a space where you can finally breathe, speak your truth, and begin to heal. If you want to start living your best life, I’d be honored to walk with you.

Emily Thompson LLMSWLimited Licensed Social WorkerEmily is not accepting new clients at this time.
Hi, I’m Emily, a trauma-informed therapist passionate about helping people feel safe, seen, and supported as they heal. I specialize in working with people of all ages who have experienced trauma including chronic stress, loss, childhood wounds, complex PTSD, and emotional neglect. My approach is person-centered, meaning I see you as the expert in your own life—and I walk alongside you as a compassionate guide, not someone who’s here to “fix” you. Because, after all, therapy is not a place to be fixed… it’s a place to be found.
In our work together, I’ll create a space where all parts of you are welcome—your pain, your resilience, your questions, and your hopes. Using a blend of evidence-based practices like TF-CBT, EMDR, somatic work, and inner child healing, I help clients gently reconnect with their sense of self, process painful memories, and build healthier relationships with themselves and others.
Healing from trauma isn’t about forgetting—it’s about integrating your story in a way that allows you to move forward with clarity and strength. Whether you’re just starting your healing journey or have been in therapy before, I’d be honored to support you.
Let’s connect when you’re ready. You don’t have to do this alone.
Emily Thompson has a full caseload and has had to put a pause on accepting new clients.

Loni King, LPCLicensed Professional CounselorAs a seasoned therapist who works in both Davison and Flint, I specialize in supporting children, families, adults and couples. Many people come to me feeling exhausted, worried, or unsure how to navigate challenges in their own relationships. They are often tired of the same old patterns repeating themselves. Parents are frustrated and struggle to find what works with oppositional children. With couples, we work to identify unhealthy communication patterns, learn new ways of interacting with one another so they can find the joy they once experienced.
I help children learn to verbalize their feelings appropriately and help them learn to manage big emotions. Children sometimes need help with problem-solving skills or need to learn strategies to control impulses. Therapy is especially helpful in addressing these things when the struggles show up at school.
My approach blends evidence-based strategies with warmth, creativity, and humor to create a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals, couples and families can learn and grow. I work closely with caregivers, equipping them with tools they need to feel more confident in their journey.
My passion is helping individuals, couples and families move from frustration to hope—unlocking resilience, strengthening bonds, and empowering people to thrive.
Loni sees clients in-person at both of our offices. She also does teletherapy. Her availability includes evenings and weekends. She is an experienced therapist who has openings for new clients.

Emily Albright LLMSWLimited Licensed Social WorkerHi! I'm Emily, and I'm passionate about helping clients navigate life's ups and downs. I know from personal experience that navigating life's challenges, whether it's trauma or grief, or everyday stress can be overwhelming. That's why I create a safe, supportive space where my clients feel heard, valued and empowered. In my work with children, adolescents and families, I've supported those navigating grief, trauma, anxiety and depression. I've also supported people with the unique challenges of neurodivergence. I have a neurodiversity-affirming approach. I am an advocate of honoring each person's individual strengths and needs, and believe in celebrating the unique way our brain's work. My journey, both personally and professionally, has deepened my commitment to helping others heal, grow and thrive. At my core, I value family, friendship, creativity, compassion and integrity. ABOUT BEST LIFE THERAPY
Learn More About Us
As a result of the success of her private practice established in 2023 and the increased demand for services, Vicky made the decision to turn Best Life Therapy into a group practice in 2025. With 28 years of experience working for several group practices along with 10 years as a School Social Worker, she wanted to create the type of practice she had always envisioned. A place where clients feel welcome and team members are valued. Best Life Therapy started in Davison, Michigan and has expanded into Flint Township. We continue to grow to help meet the need of the community. Vicky and her team know that mental Health is just as important as our physical health and we are here to support you!
The decision to expand was made because the need for support in the community was greater than she could meet by herself. There wasn't enough time in the day for her to meet the needs of everyone who requested help. She has been fortunate to be able to bring on some exceptional therapists to help meet the mental health needs of our community.
Vicky enjoys providing career opportunities to other professionals. Watching the growth and being a part of their development has been extremely rewarding. It is her goal to provide clinicians with a very long, stable and rewarding career. Vicky strives to create a supportive practice where therapists can learn from one another and feel the support from their "work family." Being able to work a flexible schedule and form lifelong friendships at work with like-minded individuals can prevent burnout. When we are happy with our career, we can bring our best selves to our clients and our own families.
Vicky provides training, consultation and clinical supervision to her staff. She is passionate about offering quality supervision for professionals. We believe in open communication, collaboration and teamwork. Ideal candidates will bring a positive mindset, a willingness to grow and learn, and an ability to effectively communicate with one another. If you're experienced in the mental health field, willing to see clients in-person and can offer some evening and weekend appointments, reach out. If you want to work at a practice that values you and supports your professional growth and development, consider emailing your resume and cover letter to us.
